Gents !!! 320i has 2000kms left before Motorplan ends , and don't want to extend it as BMW quoted 19k for extended to 20 000kms .
Please assist , what important/expensive things needs to be claimed / changed from the Motorplan before it ends ???? And what is likely to give up or break in the future ??

Please note it went for a service like last month, so what more can i claim

Please assist guys . thank You Gents

ask them to check the VVT motor as well as the clutch, lower and upper control arm bushes and shock mountings (if sportpack)

Just extend by 5000km not 20000km. Amazing how things can go wrong after mp. At least u will still have a few more months of cover in case things go wrong. Ask LZ to do a once over on the car. He will point out what needs to be changed.

All the things mentioned above, basically take that R19k that would have to be spent on extending the motorplan and save it for things that may need replacement down the line. A very good statement made was something as simple as, just because a car goes out of motorplan does not mean that all of a sudden it breaks.

As long as the engine/gearbox and main things have a clean bill of health it should be fine. Wear and tear items don't necessarily have to be expensive - or put it this way, not all service and replacement parts need to be bought with a jar of BMW supplied vaseline!!

Gents Thank You ....... Motorite gave me the below quotes

Service Plan:

2 yrs / 40 000km = R7700.00 + R150.00 + 14% = R8949.00

3 yrs / 60 000km = R13 200.00 + R150.00 + 14% = R15 219.00

Maintenance Plan:

2 yrs / 40 000km = R36 340.00 + R150.00 + 14% = R41 598.60

3yrs / 60 000km = R54 510.00 + R150.00 + 14% = R62 312.40

@Abmi - No I dont think they do offer only 5k extention

@Philip ,buddy like what excuses can I make for them to replace all the stuff mentioned above , Like what must I tell them

The Motorite Maintenance Plan is worth it if you tend to do quite a bit of mileage

Otherwise just extend the BMW MP, they have different options available

BMW doesn't deal with any mechanical insurance/warranty companies. So should something need replacing like the radiator, you still gona end up forking the entire bill & you have to claim back from your mechanical insurance who will only pay for what you covered for.

Well, apparently what seems to work is to tell them that your car shudders badly when braking at speed. If manual, on pull off the clutch shudders badly. When going over bumps while cornering there is a knocking sound from under the car. Things like that...

Worth a try if any of these things seem to be bothering you or suspect excess wear.
