Visit two dealers with my car for my idle problem and the last Bmw dealer says i need to replace my MAF sensor after they had replace everything for my problem. didnt had any MAF's in stock for me to test and now i want to clean my maf sensor with the carb cleaner. Car sounds better now but still this idle problem keeps working on my nerves.

Did the Carb cleaner did anything to your sensor LZ.?

No amount of cleaning will revive a maf, if it's on its way out, better to replace it.

The 330i has a larger MAF than the 325i and 328i. Also the 318i has a smaller one than the 325i so no they are not interchangeable.

I highly doubt that a idle problem is caused by the MAF. My car has a slightly unstable idle sometimes and when the car is cold it seems to die easily unless you give some extra throttle. I thought it could be the MAF so I unplugged it and the problem went away so I thought awesome. Just to be sure I swapped over a MAF from a 328i which does not have the problem and the problem was still there.

The issue with unplugging the MAF (which most people usually try first) is the car goes into a type of safe mode so other problems are eliminated as well.
