You can use IPA guys (isopropyl alcohol) spray
You can buy it from most hobby shops, its made by Tamiya and is in a little white bottle

If you cant get then Tamiya then there is another one called "Nitro spray" iirc

Exact same stuff

Its not the same stuff as CRC Maf Cleaner. I imported a couple of bottles, have about 5 left if anyone is interested.

I mean that the tamiya and nitro sprays are the exact same stuff as IPA :)

Ah ok, but IPA has it's drawbacks. CRC was designed as a MAF cleaner, IPA has many other uses. So rather stick to a tool designed for the job, especially when it comes to something as expensive as the MAF

yeah thats cool, must say though, ive been using it for years and never had one days problem :)
But if that CRC works well then by all means

Why would my 3.0L E36 M3 run better with the MAF unplugged?

How does it run with it plugged in? Dirty MAF sensors give bad readings and the EMS being a computer obeys the "Garbage in- garbage out" rule. With it unplugged it proberbly defaults to a certain setting, that is better than the bad signal from the MAF.

I have never cleaned an MAF... it is a fragile piece o kit and I wouldn't go spraying anything in there appart from something specifically designed for the job.
