So I have been receiving an error code on the car and after allot of googling around it seems that it is the Thermostat, the car acts the same, reaches operating temps in the same time frame so it's weird, where could i get this.

Also, have been receiving the yellow orange light on startup doesn't matter what the oil levels are, so this is possibly the oil level sensor, where would a good place be to get this?

The thermostat comes complete with the housing IIRC.
I paid R680 for it from Goldwagen:thumbs:

I have read horror stories about non genuine level sensors and thermostats....:fencelook: The level sensor also relays the oil condition.

Comes on red - Low oil pressure, shut off engine.
Comes on yellow after shutting off car - A little low on oil.
Comes on yellow while driving - Significantly low on oil.
Comes on yellow a few seconds after starting and then goes off after several seconds - Defective sensor.

I bought service items at the agents for less than at Midas/AutoZone.

The actual thermostat is fine, but the heating element in the thermostat is kaput. Had the same on my e46 325i.

The heating element and housing is all part of the thermostat in the e46.

Thermostat housing with thermostat: P/N: 11531437040

BTW, the oil pressure sensor is seperate from the oil level/condition sensor.

+1 this is the housing as well as the actual thermostat inside.
