M3 Wipe out

Mmm Wet roads and inexperienced drivers with to much money. Most people do not understand that a wet road in CPT after some good rain there is allot of standing water. Also we have allot of smooth Tar roads combined with water that is super slippery no matter what tyres you have or what car you drive.

Last night from the Airport an Audi from the N2 came flying past me and I was doing about 120 km/h in the rain so he must have been doing 160 km/h. Just 1 puddle and it will be bye bye for him. Also got a tow truck on the N7 with a Jaguar that looked really bad. And also last night on my way heard over the radio 1 lane was closed on N2 inbound before R300 due to accident.

Last nights rain combined with the end of the month pay check = allot of accidents.

Another location for Accidents when it rains hard is the N1 at Monte Vista. Then also that last 6km into town past Parden Island and Woodstock over those little hills plenty of standing water in the fast lane.

Hence why my M3 does not see the road when it rains.

And if she happens to be on the road when it rains. I drive like an old granny. I've had the unfortunate experience of spinning out on a highway across all three lanes before due to rain. I hit an aquaplane at 120kph (was in my e36 316i) and it scared the shit out of me -- bald tires. I was 19. Luckily I didn't hit anything and no one else was on the road.

So yeah, no fast driving in the rain for me thanks -- and, I am really anal about tire life. Really important to be aware of your tire life.

I Think this is a scrap yard case, broken engine/power steering pump parts.

is that car super low, or did the rear suspension break?

low does automatically mean better handling and/or grip.

I wonder what a proper insurance inspection would conclude with having modified suspension in an accident like that?

the second image with in the flatbed, defenitely makes it look like its been lowered ?

Ouch!!! That is such a sad sight!! Dax, are you very close to that circle or just happened to spot the accident while near? From the angle it looks like it was taken from a house or so? If so, then you must have some interesting incidents to see in the coming months! :grim:

Yep, wet roads with our cars, with wide tyres, power, and RWD - perfect recipe for disaster, especially if driven without care. For me, wet road = drive like a granny!

Yip I overlook the circle, in the last 1.5 years easy 30 prangs.

some fatal most just drunk assholes who wake me up. We have had it when one car pranged and while the cops and tow trucks are busy a guy in his OPC missed them by a foot after wiping out.

you can see the guys are totally pissed and the cops just let them go.

Man, shame for the M3 and sorry to Dax for being rudely awaken.
You guys are right, that circle is a trap for non-locals. You should see it in the dry - countless skid marks leading up to paving. It looks like a bloody runway.
Case for speedbumps? Or will cars then end up in Dax's lounge?

its only a circle dont really get why so many accidents?

If the ride height is that low it is most definitely Toooo low for handling but... we dont know what damage happened to the suspension when mounting the curb this could have caused it to look so low

The problem with this circle is that people get to at stupid speeds and then end up crashing badly!

Dax, should set up a GoPro at night. :fencelook:

Ya I should. Some of the stuff would be good just to see how they get it right.

It's just where it's situated and the roads leading up to it, big wide dual lane roads that you can easily do decent speeds on and suddenly find yourself taking a ride over the circle, Add to that there are a few watering holes nearby.
