What you guys have forgotten, is that the 1M has already got the x35is motor with the e92 M3 suspension, brakes and differential... :) The M3 is going a similar route. BMW have no other choice, but to go this route, due to emission regulations.

Yep, so rather than get beaten, better join them :biglol:

Modest :nonono:

The 1M is to die for, I will add one to my portfolio.

Will have to organize a run with Andz seeing my 1M is now almost run in. Just needs to go for a oil change.

I'll race my modified M3 against any Modified 135i.

Supercharged vs Turbocharged.

Fi vs Fi

Compare apples with apples.

Would LOVE to see that :) Murder on the dancefloor

Apples with apples :roflol:

How much have you and the previous owner spent on purchasing the car and then on all the performance mods. And once the sc is installed?

And u call that apples with apples. If you say so. :tease:

A driver of a 135 almost put his car into the bushes, trying to chase me up Peacevale.

I'm sure everyone whom has travelled up there on the N3, will know what i'm talking about.

i dont think that has anything to do with the car but a lot to do with the driver.

Very true, but equal drivers will see the 135 a long, long, lonnnnnggggg way back.

Well I only drive my M3 on weekends, sometimes only twice a month. But i tell you it gets driven like how a M3 was built to be driven.

Straight line is fun, but you get bored very quickly.

How often do you visit a race track? MSports pack is also fun on public roads....

Here's a quick one:

Merc's most powerful N/A is the SLS with 67.7 kw/litre

BMW e46 M3 - 78.75 kw/litre
BMW e9x M3 - 77.25 kw/litre
BMW e60 M5 - 74.6 kw/litre

Let the figures do the talking

Add Honda Figures there and the M doesnt seem impressive then...

This is the beauty about the M3, it doesn't have to be driven on a track to be enjoyed. Sure not many drivers will be able be able to extract the full potential of a M3 on the road, let alone a race track but still enjoy it. I've taken mine to the limit and a little beyond on and off the track.

My 330i has the M-Sport suspension, and yes its excellent on the road but doesn't hold a candle to the M3. They are simply on different planets. Its that much of a difference.

The rear gets unsettled rather quickly in comparison and body roll is very noticeable.

BTW making decent power from a small engine isn't as difficult as extracting it from a large capacity engine. What great large capacity high revving motor has Honda ever produced? Revving a V8 to 8600rpm is something, in a four cylinder its easy, plain and simple.

Their great NSX out put out 201kw from a 3.0l, and 216kw from a 3.2l . If the Japs are that how do their 1000cc superbikes compare to the BMW S1000RR?

If money was not a problem it would be the ///M for me every time... and to be honest even with money being a problem I would still go ///M, would just have to save up for longer :inlove:

That being said the x35 family is still fantastic

With my SC installed... Still half the price of your 135i with Mods Josh..

ok maybe i was misunderstood.

the purchase of the car by the previous owner
the mods by the previous owner
the mods by you

come to half the price of my 135i with mods?

anyway moving on, my argument is based on what is a better package. the 135i or the e92 m3.

Been plenty x35 records lately...just saying...no problem with their suspensions holding up at terminal speeds. :inlove:

Ash i dont know why the M debate (in defense) always revert to suspension technology...and corners and tracks...are there no other arguments...?

Sure the new ///M5 has the turbos, speed, suspension mastered as i want in an M car but its a heavy beast in my eyes. So we wait patiently for the new M3 that will first master speed and weight and then they can throw all the other suspension wizadry on it...but damn we want it to be quick, fast and hauling arse...unlike the current scenario. And if possible sound and look like it mean business.

That is what i would waste my money on. :joy:

Doesn't matter what Matt paid on Jezebel.

I spent R200k to buy Jezebel.

My Supercharger was R50 000k, its bolt on and takes less than a day to fit in.

So lets say R260k with software.

and... its an ///M

Jealous much? ha ha...

But I get your point about the 135i being a better option than a new e92 M3. Fully agree with you. But lets face it, you modify your car so you can be faster than the M3. When people look for a benchmark to test their car against, its an M3. Not a 135, not a 335. Not even the monster 330D;s. Sorry Shaun...

That's the truth.

But that being said, its amazing what little cost is needed to get such crazy performance from a 135i/335i motor.

the reason u have to add what matt paid is because we not talking 2ndhand cars here as too many other variable factors come into play.

am i jealous. no, not at all. if i wanted an m3 i would buy one, but i think its a lot of money to spend on something that doesnt thrill me. would i get a second hand one and mod it? no my 135i is just great and cost me very little to get alot of performance.

am i looking forward to your sc build. for sure! as a petrolhead i am very excited.
