Beem has to change their M division to the N division.. Since N motors kick ass!!! And N comes after M right?

Though on a serious note, I don't believe this will even be a discussion once the FI M3 is released.

I think I should just remind everyone here that Coisman will moer us all in his car. We all know how fast his is... so we should quieten down now before he gets a whiff of this thread and comes and silences us all.

Disagree, ask Coisman about a certain Estoril Blue 325i... :)

*YAWN*...are we there yet?:bangdesk:

:sorry:

I like all BMW's. I don't like comparing which is better as they are all made to suit different customers which is why we have an array of choice ranging from the 116i to 760li (not forgetting the various X and Z models), they all have the same DNA which is why they are all pleasures to drive.

With this thread (some may say argument?) my opinion, which is the truth, is that the x35i's are better than the ///M3's and the ///M3's are better than the x35i's. Each have their pro's and cons which makes them different, otherwise BMW would produce one model vehicle only per generation (e.g. Noble). We as BMW FANATICS should not get carried away with comparing 400m times and 0-100 times and how much bigger one guys penis is to the other's...We are all here for the love of our motors and the love of the BMW brand and should be "bashing" each other's cars for what they are...

We all have our own opinions of our cars and opinions are subjected to individual tastes...facts are never going to change the opinion of an individual.

I mentioned I like all BMW's and, truth be told, I like many other manufacturers vehicles as well but, I don't like modded K04 VW's (the stock ones are awesome) because they scare the shit out of me...if we would focus our "bashing" efforts toward those vehicles, it would help a brother overcome his fear of them :fencelook:

Forgive me if I don't make any sense, I was high when I wrote this. I am sure some of you fell off to sleep while reading this...I would like to say it was my pleasure and that I hope you are well rested when you awake.

Well its boiling down to just that "otherwise BMW would produce one model vehicle only per generation" same 3L powerplant, some body kits etc and stickers and different boost. I will feel cheated buying the FI new M3. Now if they had a V8 turbo in that M3 I'd be really interested. Imagine you drive along in your brand new FI M3 cabby and your day gets shattered by a modded 135i. I don't like the way BMW is going. My 5 cents worth

I get and agree with what you are saying about having the same engine with different boost, etc. but you have to admit that its through evolution (or necessity) that every newest iteration of an engine makes it a little better than the previous and the same would go for all components - take Porsche for example? Don't answer that! LOL!

I don't care that a modded car with the same/similar engine as mine is faster than my car. I had a very close run with a K04 golf which has a smaller motor than my car. It affected me initially, and I got over it. Since then I don't care or feel cheated that it was as almost as fast as my car in a straight line. (These cars are boosted to equivalent cc's much larger than my car engine anyway).

I joke about being "scared" of them but I admire the VAG-ist's (not trying to be offensive) efforts with modifying their 2.0 motors especially with the K04's and how robust those motors are. I admire VW for making such a great platform for their customers. And I look forward to the day I catch a hiding from one of those cars :)

It makes me sad to read others comparing cars and saying one is better than the other. We all know the Nissan 1400 bakkie was the best vehicle ever made! I bought my car to enjoy, and I am doing just that!

LMAO

Yeah...you know...those VW guys, some of them are like "my 1.4 beats supercharged M3's with stage 1" and others are like "yeah but my stock IHI 'roc did 5 seconds on the 400m" and stuff, what's up with that?

:fencelook:

:sorry:

Eish, I don't wanna cause trouble! I own two modded VW's too so I suppose I am entitled to those two quotes as false as they are. LOL. I'll stop now. Did I mention I am high on pain killers?

If you ran the same boost as the k04 it would be a different case. The M's used to be hardcore, not run of the mill, economy punting daily commute for the masses type of car. You don't buy an M because it is frugal, but chasing the green dream and following the zombie conformist Al Gore mentality by BMW has left me pondering whether there isn't some sort of change at Munich which will eventually see BMW become just another boring bottom line punting company. At least they could offer something exiting for the M3 due to be released, something unique like an evolution of the S54 motor, or at least something bigger and different than the common FI 3.0L.

Heres some food for thought. The x35's need a modded twin/single turbo six cylinder 3.0L motor to beat a N/A small capacity V8 at altitude. Yes, thats how good the M is.

I was just pondering about something... Talking strictly about n/a motors and not f/I , is there any engine out there that gives the straight six or the v8 motors in the M's a good run for their money? And if so, which motor comes closest? Talking all brands of course.... Including Isuzu :roflol:

:fencelook:

yes but i can buy a 135i for wife and myself with the same money and we can both leave the m3 behind and all the while we can do it in as much comfort as the m3 driver

:fencelook:

here we go again :roflol:
