Fixed. I was going to just sell it but then I thought; hey! I must have meant 3 series, else why would I have mentioned my 330d.

What actually promotes that noise?
Is it the catless DP?

I've got a 2010 135 DCT N55 and I'll hear that noise now and again. I've been doing some research and watching videos with cars with the catless DP and some crackle and some don't.

I want to get them primarily for that noise or you could me idea on what to get that will give me that noise.

The popping will come from the air fuel ratio being rich.The cat will trap most fuel rich air and dampen the popping.Remove the cat and the sound will be more prominent.Street tuned cars tend to do that.

I really love the standard exhaust noise what I'm looking for now is that crackle and pop. Don't want something that's going to be loud.

MPE. And the PPK software brings a lot of the crackle and pops.
