Howsit gents,

Please forgive my ignorance, I have recently purchased a M140i with run flats all round.
I see one of the rear tyres are damaged and will need to be replaced.

I want to replace the tyre however:

Will BMW give me motorplan issues if I switch to normal tyres on the rears?

Thanks in advance

I’ll add to the above:

Don’t mix run flats with normal tyres- that is asking for trouble in terms of safety.

In terms of motor plan, I can’t comment on their standpoint now, but years ago it wasn’t an issue to fit normal tyres, as long as they were the same size and speed rating as the original ones. Then you bear the risk of getting a puncture and not being able to drive I.e carry a spare wheel.

Thank you for the responses gents.
I have just decided to purchase another RunFlat in the case they do give any issues. Easier than carrying around a spare as well.

you can run any star rated tire on a bmw that's under plan irrespective if its run flats or not, as long as it is star rated

Thanks for the update Chris, ended up coming right with the single runflat I needed. Will likely change the other rear to the same brand as well to ensure both have the same pattern.

I replaced my front two tyres with Goodyear Eagle F1 run-flats from BMW, they were on special for R2200 each. Also fitted at BMW.

They supposed to be great for this car, so far I'm super happy with them. Hopefully the special is still on.
