Just collected the car from BMW :smilebounce:

New Tyre's are so much softer, the comfort level has went up X10.
Issue is the road noise seems much louder. I guess its a trade off for better comfort and ride quality. Not to mention the grip the car now has :tiptoe:

BMW Autobahn is truly the best, or best I have ever used...Nope, they are the best!

Rims look beautiful and she is just so lovely to drive now :blowheart: it was like falling in love all over again :hammerhead:

Looking good bro.:clapper:

Pls send me details of the guys that did the wrap and price if u can. Need to get my splitters done in gloss black.

A guy in Boksburg did them.

He did the side skirts and the spoiler also.

I was not to happy at first with the splitters and got him to do it again.'

I think I am to anal :skit:

Ensure you get him to wrap the underside also, as you can't really see the area, some people don't wrap it but I wanted the fill look and for it to look proper from all angles.

His name is Delta +27 79 567 7074 and is based in Boksburg. Not sure how to spell his full name.

He was not only the best priced but also friendly and used good quality products.

I used Gloss Carbon Fibre :blowheart:

Will take close up photos of it in the sun and shade when I wash again and post it up...

Hi Members

Having made a booking fro Friday to install the MPE, I did a video of the car in its factory stock form :smilebounce:

[video=youtube]

Hoping for the car to be much louder :hammerhead:

I have the MPE...to be honest its a little soft especially while sitting in the car.
If you want a nice sound then couple it with the DP...
Mine has DP and MPE....initially only had the MPE first. Was initially scared it would be too loud...but in all honesty its not.
Not even close to drone or anything like that...

:eek:mgwaiting: I love the DP but if I fit it back now, will need to remove it in Jan for service :fencelook:

Effort and Time for me is difficult in addition to the extra KM involved. easier to just have MPE for me personally.
But I might just end up putting it back if a buyer does not come along.

So, when I collected it at the dealer, I was sad that it did not say "M Performance" across the back but was advised that, it was redesigned and this is the newer one which has a stamp plate and not embossed for everyone to see. (A step back IMHO)

Start the car, rev it a little and no Pops and slightly louder than stock. (Valve was unplugged and in full open position. (Asked the dealer to do this for more noise)

Leave the dealer and accelerate a little and its still soft, no noise and one would think its stock!

I do notice that the car felt a little lazy and BOV was a little louder.

After +-25KM on the highway I lift of the throttle and hear some burble and feel there is hope but still disappointed as it is so silent :skit:

...Continues from the other thread...

I get home and it has some burble and pops so I google the possible issue.

Some talk of breakin and some say it is what it is.

Start the car yesterday and it is louder on cold start. Much louder.

I drive to gym with the windows down and the car is noticeably louder, sound a little like it did with the DP but not as loud.

Leaving gym and knowing that the car is now warmer I give it some juice and start to like this new found sound. Its refined and not over the top but still not what I expected.

Used if to M Fest and then went home and parked her off before the rain arrived.

This morning I go to gym and the lazy feeling was gone with the car feeling its responsive self again with more burble and pops. Not as dramatic as I want but existent.

On my way home I feel the urge to hear what its like, rev past 4000rpm and the tone of the system changes :slow: I am amazed at this new sound that has now become present.

As I drive harder, it gets louder :hammerhead:

Driving home now with the wifey and on my best behavior and the car sounds civilized but wild when given some gas.

The BOV still sounds louder and I know that BMW claim no Power gain but I do not agree.

Even if its just 1/5wkw gain, it is much more responsive as there is no lag at all and spool noise is also louder.

I think it will definetly sound better as I add some KM to the system and hope that it gets louder.

The sound has changed and it adds a sort of personality to the car.

I would advise all people that are on the fence about the MPE to install ut as there is no drone and the sound does grow on you.

Video to follow soon :fencelook: :smilebounce:

What do you mean by spool sound? Is the sound you hear when you rev whilst in neutral? Or the whistle when flooring it? I get this sound a few seconds after flooring it. Didn't notice it before.

I hear you regarding the slight power increase. Mine really has a more aggressive "jump" now when pressing the accelerator, and has almost a null turbo lag. Also, I surprisingly kept up pretty well against an M2 the other day. I'm definitely feeling more performance with the mpe.

I love how I start mine on a cold start and I let the car roll towards the complex gate. The whole complex can hear that exhaust warming up; sounds like there was a PA speak attached to the exhaust.

Hey Bud,

Sound when accelerating.

I don't think a Turbo will spool boost when just revving but I stand to be corrected.

It is kinda a whistle sound as the turbo builds boost under load and seems more present with better flow in the system.
