My car is still with JSN, so this week is out for me, new clutch being fitted to resolve the infamous DCT shudder.

I'm game for anything guys. Just pls pm me the details for the private runs.. Not gna drive me car till then. Yesterday morning driving on the n12 towards the glen my car just decided so spin out of control, did a full 360 twice on the highway. Car is fine, didn't slam on the brakes, just let it spin out and when I was facing the right way I have some gas nd it came right. It was raining nd was only doing about 80.:thumbdo:... These cars are really dangerous in the wet.

Think this should be part of a separate thread as alot of BMW owners can learn from this. When it rains and you drive a rearwheel drive car, you must switch off your cruise control and not go through puddles with wide open throttle.

On cruise control, when you hit a puddle, the cruise control will accelerate to recoup the speed lost due to hitting the puddle. 9 out of 10 times, those puddles cause the car to aquaplane i.e. ride ontop of the water, causing the tires to loose touch with the road. The water is then pushing the nose slower and the cruise control is accelerating the rears. Any slight movement from the steering causing wheels to go off center will cause the car to swop ends. Same applies when you drive off cruise control on throttle.

Best thing to do, when you hit one of those puddles; keep the steering straight and gently get off the gas. Make sure your tires are in good nick and at the right pressures. Remember, you cannot compress water so the moment your tire cant displace water from the puddle, it gets ontop of the water and you can imagine how much traction you have on water.
