M135 surging

Hi guys.

Any insight into the above problem would be appreciated.

Car in question is a 2013 BMW M135 with 17000 km's, which seems to be surging at higher rpm, by surging I mean it accelerates, holds back then accelerates again, all within a split second of each other.

Seems to more common in higher gears, from 4th onwards (car has the 8 speed sports auto)

Car is stock and is not throwing any error codes and drives absolutely normal except for the surge at high rpm under full throttle, no spluttering or breaking up etc

I have put in Wynn's injector cleaner and switched from BP to Shell to see if there is any difference.

Still have about half tank of fuel in, since filling up with shell so at the moment the car has a mixture of BP & Shell and the injector cleaner.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this surging?

Best thing you could do is take to bmw, i had the same issue on my ST once and it was bad fuel however it may be some thing else with your car as well

Have had the same on my 335i.. Car goes like hell, hits about 5ish RPM and stops boosting and the revs drop a bit then it climbs again.. Filled up with a decent batch of fuel and all is well again.. Rather hold off on throwing cleaners etc into the car, try a decent batch of fuel first and if it remains take it to BMW :coolShake:

Best thing you could do is take to bmw, i had the same issue on my ST once and it was bad fuel however it may be some thing else with your car as well

Thanks, will fill up again at a busy garage and see what happens.

On second thought, I should have not used the injector cleaner.
