Well done on those figures today. Was good to see you. I think these M240’s are gems.

Looking up my spreadsheet and comparing that to Stock M135’s and M235’s this engine is putting out around 30-40kw’s more.

P.S. That car looks good in the flesh with all it’s blacked out badges and carbon but. They match beautifully with the Mineral Grey. It’s actually the colour I was was looking for when I started looking for a M3.

Oh yes. The Correction Factor used is rather high at 30%. You should never try compare different Dyno results. I’m an engineer and you will chase your tail trying to triangulate figures. The best measure is comparing your performance against those that ran on the same Dyno on the same day.

These result will however stack up to the 1st Dyno day we had as we did comparison runs to check for similar read outs. I’ll share the full sheet with you if you would like. Also any discussion you want to have about dynos fee free to ask next time I see you. :)

BTW. I have the photo of the corner weight taken. Not sure if you would like me to send it to you or post it here.

Crazy jump from the 250wkw odd to the 270wkw odd, what changed?

These B58 motors are real winners.

Would be cool to do an X40i dyno day and get a view of stock vs the various phases of mods.

Good seeing you too!

Thanks for the compliments and the informative explanation! Really useful!

I would be keen on seeing the full sheet. Will definitely reach out with more Qs at the next Michelin Cup or Fanatics event.

Car is completely stock. As far as I know, the B58's sometimes run higher than stock figures on the dyno.

On the spreadsheet from the Fanatics dyno day there are several X40's that ran and have different readings. However not sure what mods each of them had. Hope it helps.

Finally got PPF done on the front end. Whilst I was at it I also had the diffuser and parts of the front bumper wrapped in gloss black and also opted for a magnet number plate solution at the bank and Velcro tabs on OEM holder at the front.

Thanks to Dieter from KNS customs for the great workmanship and awesome customer service.

The car is now ready to hit the long road with less risk of stone chips. Also getting tail pipe piece fitment sorted out.

Beautiful car you have here! Stunning color! :praise: :cartel:

Stock Power is correct for the B58.. Exactly between the N55 and the S55 power band as expected. Other stock B58s also push around 270wkw..

Correct. Power is between 240kw and 270kw for stock B58s at wheels.

Neat car! :bravo:
PPF and a detail is a must (costs a ton though)
did you get any ceramic/hydrophobic coating applied?

Thank you! I didn’t get ceramic coating. I’m still in two minds on wether I want to do it or not given the nuanced care you have to take care of the car to keep the coat working. Still thinking about it though, I’ll give it a second thought when my bank balance recovers :)

The Hydrophobic aspect of it is great. I'd like to get one of these soon: (well, both actually) which would make life much easier and you can get into all the gaps where water likes to stay.

Will definitely read more into it. Only recently getting to understand the nuances between polishes, waxes and sealants.

Took the car out for a cycle this morning and it performed X2 duty rather well, even though there was only one bicycle and occupant to transport.

Afterwards took the car for a wash and snapped some pics afterwards. Also trying to get into the habit of applying quick detailer after car washes to enhance the glow.

Been busy the last couple of weeks and haven’t had time to update the thread. A friend an I took the B58s out to Harties for a drive a few weeks back. Roads are much better now that most of the roadworks is done on the road up from JHB. Still puts a grin on my face as to how much power this car can or down on demand.

I also had a chance to get a set of AC Schnitzer lowering springs for the car. Had these installed a couple of weeks ago. The car rides very close to stock and does not feel much more aggressive with the springs installed. Will add spacers over the next couple of weeks to improve the stance of the car all round (all the suppliers I tried were out of stock). Will try go keep the OEM wheels as they go well with the OEM+ / New age 325is theme I’m going for. Hopefully the spacers bring everything together. The springs were a major improvement over the stock ride height appearance wise.

Took the car out to get some pics in decent light today.
