My original plan was to build a 2002 into a weekend toy but quickly abandoned that plan after crunching the numbers and realizing I’d be a few rands short. So began the search for an E30.
I spent the better part of 2019 looking for a 2 door plastic bumper / facelift 325i for a decent price. 325is’s were out of my budget. I wouldn’t recommend this exercise to anybody. I missed out on a couple of good cars but after countless viewings I finally found the ideal car. Agreed a price with the seller and picked it up on Christmas Eve. Big thanks to @Coisman for helping with relevant checks.
Since then, a lot of work has gone into the car and still have quite a lot to do.
It’s a 1990 325i coupe, originally auto but converted to manual. Car is still running on the original motor and I have no immediate plans to change this.
I’ll update this thread as time goes on with some of the work that has gone into the car. I have no plans to restore it to its factory glory but I want to build it into the perfect E30 for me.
