yep it was ,at the time and even now i would not get the s52 unless it was an e36 coupe

I'm familiar with that particular yellow M Coupe. It's a 2000 car with an S50 motor (we didn't get the S52 in South Africa), it does have all the Schnitzer bits added on although I'm not sure if it has the suspension. It isn't one of the 39, but still a very cool car.

i was tired but you knew what i meant lol, it had a 6 speed or was that still not a factor like the e36 with 5 speed 3.0 and 6 speed 3.2?

I know what you mean

All the M Coupes came with 5 speed boxes, regardless of S50 or S54 powerplants but the final drive is different. A six speed swap is possible and has been done a number of times (in the states usually).

Going back to that yellow car, it's worth mentioning that Dakar Yellow II, Cosmos Black and Evergreen were not offered with the S54 M Coupe anywhere. It is, however, one of only 15 Dakar Yellow M Coupes in South Africa and (as far as I know) the Schnitzer parts are genuine - which makes for a special car.

This really is some incredible research and deserves all the praise it's received! I do wonder though if any of the 39 have been written off? Or if some collector has taken one and squirrelled it away with even less mileage on the clock...

That is a very good question...congrats with the Z4M purchase! I know there is a white S50 in the Vaal Triangle somewhere with 12k km on the clock. The lowest mileage S54 I know of is the one that got sold to a UK buyer with 20 500km on the clock...

Thanks bud! Love my roadster/sports cars and the profile of the coupe is just so stunning I couldn't say no. That low km z3 would be an epic one to go see. As would that green one, would love to know what that's worth these days...

Ya really looks like it hey. Are the chromed gauges below the aircon controls standard, cos they look really good.

Jup. The whole cabin is retro. :blowheart:

A question to the s54 ACS know-it-alls. Did they come out with the ACS pedals and handbrake as standard or were they fitted by owners post delivery?

When did that sale go through Jaco? To the UK buyer.

They were either fitted by the dealerships before they were sold or by owners at a later stage. They weren't part of the accessories added at Rosslyn.

There is a good pic in your Drive Mag article that shows the cabin sans handbrake and pedals.

Mike, I don't have the exact details, Scavenger please correct me if I'm wrong...:hammerhead:

As far as I have it, a deal was brokered the day after the car was advertised. Two buyers were interested in the car and after a bit of a bidding war, the car was sold for a GBP amount. Rumour has it that Crossley & Webb brokered the deal for the buyer. When the sale was concluded and whether the car was shipped out I do not know.
