Hi guys
This weekend I decided to tackle the coolant flushing on the M Coupe. I followed the instructions in the Online TIS. Very easy but the problem came when I started refilling the system with coolant (50/50 mix), even though it's a self bleeding system, which is supposed to be easy. It only accepted just 2L's of coolant and I drained way more that 2L's. I started to squeeze the hose connecting the thermostat and radiator then it slowly started to suck more coolant into the system. After filling about 8L of coolant, I started the car thinking the water will start flowing and get rid of the air bubbles and I'll just top it up. How wrong I was. It took the whole day trying to figure out how to get the air out of the system as the car kept over-heating every time I took it for a spin around the block.
I search Google for answers and found an article where one guy suggested to jack the car up in front and leave it for 30min. Since my driveway is a steep hill, I left the car there over night, in the morning I topped up the coolant and problem solved :joy:
Hope this helps anyone doing the same.
