Anyone an answer, please
Flooded gutters on either side of road in a built up area early this year; Driving along and notice water covers whole road in an area which I subsequently discover is a slight dip in the road, i continue into puddle and engine stalls. Car transported home. Next morning, starts up with a puff of blue smoke but all seems fine. I travel 50 km along freeway (averaging 120ks) and when slow down at a stop street hear a distinctive metallic like knocking sound. Car has done 6000km.
Tech report is to the effect that "engine sucked in water through air intake. Water caused hydraulic lock ... and damaged pistons and conrods".
Suggestion 'engine be replaced'.
Cost - own account; :bawling: Motorplan doesn't cover this. :cursin:
Told to claim from insurance (comprehensive cover) - another denial of liability - car (bodywork) not damaged!!!:dunno:
Any suggestions?
