Loud pullie noises

Hi all

Me again with a new issue. As of 30 min ago the top right pullie ( while facing the engine) started making a very loud squeaking noise but I can't seem to find a diagram anywhere so I know what it is too replace. Anyone know where I can find such a thing or does someone know which pullie it is.

Any help would be awesome

Get some Q20, with the straw-nozzle adaption, and aim a direct targeted good squirt at various pulley's, until the noise subsides.

This will:
1) tell you exactly which pulley
2) hopefully buy you a few noise free days

in my experience it is often the idler/tensioner pulley bearing that fails

OK so it's the power steering pullie. Now to find a replacement

Also check the alternator bearing! I was told at the parts department that this can also make a noise .

Top right pulley is the power steering. Usually the tensioner and/or idler pulley gives in. While replacing the power steering one give the other pulleys a spin. They should be silent.

Hi again

sooooooooooooo after stripping the front of the car this morning i found that the aircon belt slipped off and knocked the crankshaft belt between the engine and the pullie which in turn broke the rubber inner pullie (which is the noise). so anyone know where i can get a new crank pullie as BMW are being ridiculous and want 6k.

Scrap yard might be a good bet, but then again they try and sell the whole engine at a time so not sure if they will sell but you can ask.

Found a pullie yesterday and only cost R1400 replaced and all is currently ok. But I do think the one small tentioner is poked. Odd sounds again so will replace that too
