Morning Guys
I'm posting here in the hope of getting a recommendation for a good locksmith in the Johannesburg area. I really need a master that knows what he is doing. Preferably and old school guy who actually does the work himself and has experience with older car ignitions. The problem I have is that I have an ignition barrel that is stuck in my car and wont come out. I simply wanted to change my existing ignition barrel with a new one and have the new one re-keyed to work with the old key. The locksmith easily re-keyed the new barrel but the problem started with them trying to remove the old one. It was obvious that the guy who was trying to remove had absolutely no experience in what he was doing and I think he damaged the release pin in the process. After multiple of them tried for about two hours they then tell me I need to bring that car back in and leave it for an entire day and pay again as its a big job now and need to remove the entire ignition column. They caused a lot of damage in the process. I have a classic car that I have looked after over the years and would like to find someone who know what they are doing and not damage my car any further. I would appreciate any recommendation. The car is 92 opel monza GSI...Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
