Is there any thing in particular that i should look at when purchasing 1

Just choose the colour!!

It does have some decent features but true to German form the extras list is a few pages, and can be quite expensive so choose wisely.

With my car I wanted the power of the 335 and looks of the MSport with the MPerformance Parts, not into all the fancy gadgets

i recently purchased a 2013 335i

besides the power kits from BMW

does any of the dealerships offer a downpipe or intake under the warranty

Yes ACS downpipe is around R16000. And it still has a cat.
