Hello,
Is there any tool avail to log data from the knock sensors?
Thanks,
Which car? Tell us more about what you doing/objectives etc ? Tuning or just checking for issues?
Normal Bmw inpa software doesn’t do it (as far as I’ve used it)
You may want to look into the headphone type listeners
Thank you 444YYY.
F22 M240i and yes for tuning.
I find that tracking ignition timing on the B58 can be challenging - inconsistency under seemingly similar conditions. I would expect knock counts to allow for an improved interpretation of data.
I have no interest in using auxiliary equipment - just want to tap into DME data

Hi, what data can you log from a knock sensor,
You will be able to log knock data i.e. the occurrence of detonation in each combustion chamber. This can allow you to protect your engine if its there or push your engine in its absence. You could infer from ignition timing but direct knock data would be more accurate.
I was asking cause on the i20 I just bought I checked the error code and it gave that error, Knock sensor circuit high, I gave the car back, but still fighting them,
Could you feel anything whilst driving the car....loss of power, hesitation etc
Maybe just be a faulty component or sensor.
