1st of all i have the motor already and the Vanos is not in very good condition and im not sure if there is any aftermarket management to control the dual vanos correctly or else i would do a rebuild on it , i have the Dicktator 60-2 management and the vanos locking plates already , now im not sure if anyone has locked the vanos on a normally aspirated M3 however i do know that im going be losing low down torque ,but i have no idea as to how much though
Keep in mind this not going be a race car as such , more of a weekend kind of car as i got myself a clean E30 2dr specimen like i always wanted
Any help /feedback regarding the vanos issue ?
Thanks in advance
If you going to lock the vanos just throw in a Ford motor.:roflol:
If you lock the cams in fully advanced position the idle will be lumpy. You can lock it midway but whatever you do you will compromise. I would rather stick it out and take longer with the build and try use a OEM ecu as well as fixing the vanos. I know OB has non EWS software which he doesn't sell for moral purposes but in your case I am sure he will bend the rules.
:roflol:George a Ford motor is no no for sure :yuck:
I really dont want to remove the vanos , just trying to find out the pro's & cons of doing this
I have spoken to OB regarding this but for that i need to source a complete engine wiring & ecu or i can always use the ecu i removed from the M as i have a standard ecu in at the moment ,although i am searching for wiringing in the meantime
