Living with no front number plate

I couldn't find a thread relating specifically to this.

It's a fairly common "mod" on BMW's (and fortunately for some - mostly states in the US), it's not required by law to have a front number plate. I'm giving it some thought on my E90 (now that I've Plasti Dipped the grille), but obviously it comes with risks. Unfortunately for us, we're required to have one by law.

In my personal opinion, it looks clean as hell when people remove it from their BM's. I just wanted to hear from some of you guys who have done it. What's it like living with no front number plate on your daily driver? How often do you get heat from the cops? What are some of your ways of dealing with it? i.e. your best excuses! haha

Here are some pictures for reference

I did a numberplate delete on my e46. You can check my DIY thread. For about a week and a half I drove with my numberplate in my window.

Drove through one "roadblock" (for taxis) without an issue but as you may be aware that yesterday in CPT they decided to increase the fines from R500 to up to R3000.

You can drive on your own risk but I would not recommend it and we as a BMWFanatics site can unfortunately not endorse such activity.

I had my plate off my M3 for about 3 or 4 months. I got stopped alot by Metro, but I had the plate in the car visible on the dash. Told them I had a small accident and new bumper was installed and was just waiting for a new license plate holder. They always let me go.

So... I never got any fines, but always got pulled over for it. Once, twice in the same road by separate Metro cops

If you can deal with the constant pulling over, then cool.
