Lights wont go off!!!

Hi There,

So I switched off my car, and noticed that the dashboard, speedomoter, cluster lights, i.e radio, gears and the trunk ''boot

light stays on...etc are all on even so when I remove the key and lock the car... the headlights go off and park lights.

I checked all the doors, I checked the light switch...and it seems ok. but the red, orange dashboard and control lights wont power off!!!.


Its an E36, 1995 Model.

Kinda managed to fix it, traced back to what I had done, before it started doing this, remember turning the air-con from hot to cold and then it started doing this, checked around on the net, apparently, this is commonly caused due to wiring, mostly when a live wire is touching another, had no idea how to check this...

But with a big whack on the side of the dashboard :floggin: :floggin: :floggin: :floggin: they went off and stopped doing it, suspect it's wiring, when I brought the car about 5 months ago, it had the most ridiculous pre-historic cellphone charger, something that looks like the size of a brick and from the early 90's, removed that, so suspect that has something to do with it, tampered with wiring.
