Preferably keeping auto. This conversion not for racing but for every other day's use. two options : use a 1J with its own box alternatively to try to adapt to the bm box. The latter probably the more difficult and risky.

i was getting into this..personally i would convert to manual & if funds allow get a 6 speed bm box & adapt. stock prop & easy mounting of box etc. R154 boxes are scarce too. you could buy engine mounts online.

Apparently they using a Bmw E39 530d gearbox. It somehow looks like a E46 though.

The information that I have is that its a fairly straightforward to fit the 1UZ to a e30 or E46 but the E36 is a problem owing to the location of the cross-member.
