Sorry guys. I'm a bit embarrassed to ask but think I should know the answer to a widely referred to topic.
What is a pre lci or lci vehicle? I own a 2007 e90 320i exclusive. So what do i have? Can someone also tell me what engine I have. It is a N46 or N47 or something. Thanks in advance.

Hey man LCI means Life Cycle Impulse which is BMW's way of saying it's a facelift model. You have a pre-LCI E90. :coolShake:

Engine.. I am not sure. The LCI and pre-LCI 320i had the same engine I think? I had both.

The difference between them visually is the lights and some other small things.

Pre LCI - "Headlight" has only normal bulb indicators, "Taillight" The lights line up at the back of the boot, meaning that the boot light and body light at the back looks like one piece.

LCI - "Headlight" has led indicators, little blocks where the turning light is. "Taillights" the 2 taillights boot and body, lights doesn't line up and looks like a mistake where the boot light seems to be short.

Hope this helps, look at your car's lights.

LED Headlight indicators were only on LCI with Xenons ...

small changes to the body lines were made also on M Sport and Non M Sport models ..

LCI was mid 2010 onwards .. this is usually also when the motors are " revised " with some added power ..

Thanks guys. Glad that's cleared up. Because mine is an exclusive I have the xenon lights but there are no led's anywhere on the car which sucks.
I just need to find out what type of engine I have.

Take the Last 7 numbers of your vin (should be something like NG00556) and then enter it on this site www.bmwarchive.org (top right, vin decoder) and then you should see the details of your car, including the engine details
