You guys having lots of fun, I've been following this thread. I was up in Gauteng in the early 90's for just short of two years. After a botched hijacking I decided to move back to CT. I put 5 shots in them car, I was ready. It was in Alrode. The buggers were in a 740i BMW.

Maybe it was a fellow fanatic that likes to "skiet die bliksems!" that was trying to draw your attention to say Hi... :dunno:

Awesome. I'll be there. 26th....

Pity its the last ice cream run, as I'll most likely (hopefully) have that M3 I've been after by end of next month.

This fuel price thing is also a major ball ache as its now making me second guess supercharging the M... even tho I have the supercharger ready to go, fuel economy is going to rape my pockets.

Folks.

I need to state for the record, that me, myself and I, in my own opinion, feel that the meet should not happen, or that if it did, that there is no highway driving involved.

It is dangerous, it is reckless, and somebody is going to get hurt.

I will not comment on this any further, and will not turn this into a "to be or not to be thread", I have said my peace, and as such I will not be attending.

If the meet is for a bunch of guys to meet up for a chow and an ice cream in a public place, by all means, in the spirit of fanatics it warms my heart to see 50 or more cars gather, but.

There, I said it, do as you will, just be fscking safe guys, please.....

strange that you say this now, when you were standing at the shell at the end, your exact words were,"this is the most fun ive had sobber".

but its your choice.anyway who says you have to do the drive, you can just do the meet up

Colin,

Not only is that the absolute truth, the experiance was downright orgasmic, and it was the most fun that I have had in a motor vehicle in years, including some track days.

So much so that I turned past my offramp to go home, where I was less then 1km away from home, and proceeded to do another 80km simply because it was so much fun.

However, on my way home, I got to thinking of how reckless it was, and I started thinking of my daughter, and I started thinking of the implicatinos if anything went wrong.

I simply also do not have the self control that you had sticking to the speedlimit, cant do it, perhaps I don't have the maturity to do so, which is most likely the case, however, I am damm sure that I am not alone in that.

Hence my concern.

Most fun I have had in a motor vehicle in a long time.... check
Most reckless thing I have done in a motor vehicle in a long time... double check

So.. enjoy guys, just be safe. Pretty Pretty please.

guys, you dont have to join in the drive, only the meet up,but if you want to do the drive and want to take it easy then its fine

Thanks Colin,

My ranting is now over, i have said my pieces :)

Guys as Colin says, as a fanatics event, it is fantastic to see so many guys together, and by all means, lets continue to do so, ice cream rocks anyway.

As for the balance of it, knock yourselves out.
Just dont do it against a concrete pillar...
