I am so damn "lus" to get some track time!
I am finding myself driving around taking corners like im on the track constantly, especially today.
I need to satisfy this itch now. :fencelook:

R1k to put your car on the track, even more for your BMW club membership and even more for your MSA licence... Is it just me or are we getting screwed here?
Does marshalling cost that much or is it to keep the riff-raff out the event?

Come on, at a nightclub 50 bucks at the door keeps the riff-raff out..
I'm with you on this, it is rather expensive.

My issue is with MSA though, I'm not really sure what they do?
We pay them because they say so, but what value do they really add?
Please educate me here. Because it really does smell of e-toll..

Circuit licesnse from MSA is R375 + R560 mandatory insurance.
So R935 in total, and it expires in December!

dont get me started on the msa...

also i would bet quite a bit of money had to be paid over to the msa already to get this event approved...

open track days should be cheaper to encourage people to join in to grow motorsport...

all the msa seem effective at is making life difficult for those who want to get into motorsport and not allowing it to grow...

Kyalami for the entire Day at a discounted rate is R50K then you have to pay the Team of Marshals and medics that are compulsory at any event like this. Administration and all the consumables that go with the decals on your car and the reg forms etc add up to a lot of money. If any of you had msa licenses and competed every year this would not be an issue cos it is part of our race team budget on the Enduro Offroads side and you can also just get a day pass at the event.

But anyways this is a thread to actually just in the good spirit of things know who from the forum is going.

dont get down if i was closer i would enter... thanks for posting this up im sure some forum members will join in and enjoy the day :)

the msa just pisses me off... but ed_z is right if you had licenses already it would not be a problem...

you could get licenses and easily compete in quite a few autocross events this year they fun and running costs are low

I have been a MSA member for more than 10 years now and have my National Enduro, Club Saloon cars and MX licenses and the cost is offset over several events per license so it never amounts to much i think anyways.

There are going to be some really wild Savspeed Turbo BMW's, CLK touring, Nissan Skyline GTR's, M3's, CSL M3's and other manufacturers as well as all the guys from GNH Transport. These guys all compete in the race series which is NOT a track day session for these guy's its a actual RACE Series and there is qualifying and then 2 race heats in between the time trial session track day cars. Come in for free and spectate its really awesome.
