So I'm back home after a safe and enjoyable long weekend in the Kruger Park.
As promised some pics.
Day 1 (29 Aug 2013):
Since our first night was at Letaba camp we had to tackle the long road from Klerksdorp via Rustenburg, Brits, Polokwane, Tzaneen to Phalaborwa.
About 700km all in all and we arrived at the gate at 14h00. We drove with my dad's Isuzu 3.0d
There are still roadworks in between Polokwane and Tzaneen (Magoebaskloof) so we took the George's valley route.
Not much animals seen on the first day.
There are lots of bush bucks inside the Letaba camp:
View of the Letaba river (it's dry season but flooding happens very often):
Also lots of naughty monkeys inside the camp - they stole a pineapple out of a close containing and ate it whole, here they are terrorizing the next door neighbor and when I chanced them away they just waited on the Nissan:
Me having a cold one (it was well into the 30s even during the weekend when it was cold in Gauteng it was still above 25 over there):
Me and a big tree:
Our hut - it's really cool how the huts are placed in circles creating a peaceful atmosphere:
"Looking for some food" - These bush bucks are so tame they will eat food or leaves out of your hand:
