Killarney open track day, who's going...?

Hozit guys.

So guys, this coming Sunday 28 Feb there is an open track day at Killarney, starts at 1pm to 6pm, there site says that the morning there's a BMW meet, not sure of that.

So who will be there?

I will prob be there for support, seeing that my baby is not ready for the track yet...

Hi,

there is a open streetcar trackday this sunday 28 feb,
there was supposed to be a "BMW day" on this day but this has been moved to March 21 at Killarney.
its sort of like a BMW Festival and only BMW's on the track, with a mass BMW parkoff and Show n Shine etc.

There will definitely be more details posted in the coming days. we just finalising a few details

all BMW clubs and individuals are urged to enjoy the day with other "BMW Koppe" if i may say so being one myself.

we have the track sessions worked out, what do u guys think of a gymkhana as well

The Gauteng BMW Clubfest in 2009 featured a gymkhana event in the parking lot of Phakisa. It was great fun and I would recommend that you include it.

@twinz....i took the idea to paul a couple of years ago, and have pestered him ever since. He gave in late last year when he replied to my email saying he would like to go ahead with the day and we started some planning.
i'm not sure who you want to vent at, but i think, this is a long overdue start for what plenty of us wanted.

it is to be an annual event and can only get bigger and better with time.

i'll be glad to meet with you and show what we have come up with so far

But allow me to reply briefly here, and refrain from discussing the more substantiall concerns about the event for a more formal dialogue.
I am a member of the Exclusively M club and will take my lead from the club on how we proceed with the matter. The idea of a bimmer fest was mooted by the club and Freerider of the BMWfanatics forum for a considerably long time now. So i am glad we were like minded on the vision. But it would seem that you guys have done your planning and decided to exclude the Exclusively///M club from this planning...which is strange since we are a very visible presence at Killarney and within the BMW fraternity. Zaki was mandated by the club to have discussions with Killarney and thereafter with yourself; but i understand this has been in vain. We are also concerned that the "ideas" for the event are very, very similar to the proposed concepts by the exclusively/// M club, which raises all sorts of intellectual property issues.

The club is meeting on Monday to decide on our response to the fest. I am sure you have understanding for the dillemma we face and ignoring it, is not going to resolve it.

That explains why the date popped up so suddenly without notice, I thought it was strange that Freerider did not know about it...

Paul told me, a year ago, about having a BMW day. I spoke to him and Shiraz yesterday at the track day about the upcoming event.

They gonna have displays of Tuners etc inside the new pits area, cars on display. Track day and maybe a gymkhana as well. Paul will send me the final details during the week with the flyer etc. I'll post it on here once I've received it
