I know EXACTLY how you feel. If that itch gets you to buy a new car then you WANT A NEW CAR! Even though it's not the best decision. Financially I would have been better off keeping my diesel and not buying the Z3. In the long run would have been allot better. But my point of view would always remain the same... You only live once.
But you have to be realistic. Try doing what I've done the last couple of years. Overbudget everything! Works wonders. If you spend 2k a month on petrol budget 2.5k. If you spend 3k on your groceries budget 4k. Even if you know you're spending 6k on rent you budget 6.5k Stuff like that. All of a sudden you have for eg 3k lying around that you 'forgot' about... If you can't do this then I won't advise a new car.
