My airbag on the e39 did the same. Chemical guys leather creme works like a charm. I have some at home if you wanna pop by at some time.

thanks man. think I will try hit it with the gliptone cleaner, a brush, and then apply the gliptone creme/conditioner and see what happens. then we can try the chemical guys stuff if no luck. but, I do need to come see your car :)

Try cleaning the airbag section with a toothbrush and soapy solution and wipe with clean cloth afterwards. Worked nicely on my E46. :thumbs:

Looking good.

Any other plans in the pipeline?

The immediate future will include headlights, hid projectors, etc and pretty much an entire interior makeover. Oh, and I REALLY need to order and clay it, tree sap mist all over the rear driver side quarter

Gonna try that. Only gave it a wipe over with a warm wet cloth, I reckon a brush and detergent of some sort will work better.

changed the gearbox and diff oil today. gearbox was quite overfilled previously, so hopefully this is going to lessen the leak from the selector rod seal

oils used:
gearbox - Castrol Syntrans B 75W
diff - Castrol Syntrax Limited Slip 75W140 (SAF-XJ 75W-140)

also reinstalled the rear brake line brackets. apparently the guys who installed the braided lines decided in their infinite wisdom that they didnt need these anymore, and this resulted in the one line occasionally touching the rear driveshaft, and starting to wear through the outer braiding. that was a potential brake failure waiting to happen :flyfun:

This stuff is :praise::praise::praise::praise:

Had to remove the Liqui Moly after my diff started whining.

Looks like I need to drain out the Liqui Moly from the gearbox as well and put Castrol.

It's the 5 speed in the s50 M Coupe so I think it's the same gearbox in the coupe e36 M3

so that worn brake line due to the previously missing brake line brackets? it decided to end it's life while doing emergency brake test on the roadworthy brake machine. :thumbdo: pissed a nice amount of brake fluid onto the inside of the wheel, and the roadworthy centre floor.

thankfully the system is partially separated, so front's still work, so I was able to drop it off at APS to get new rear lines fitted.

a little wishlist/reminder :) (new interior/seats being done soon, and my current wheel is going to let it down)

The new wheel looks good. Is it same size as the original or smaller? From the pic it looks smaller
