Bought it from a fellow forum member. Only thing is, it came off a manual car, and mine is auto, so at the moment my gearlever is wrapped in black vinyl.

I would only go for something like that or an M5 in the e39 shape!

Congrats again. Love it!:inlove:

OMG!! :praise: Finally another LCI Manual appears. That is awesome! If what BMW have told me is correct, you are the proud owner of the ONLY 2003 540i6 in South Africa. They told me that there were 3 x 2001, 2 x 2002 and 1 x 2003 540i Manuals brought into SA in that time...and at a flipin great price, even if it were an Auto. The big man upstairs digs you bro! Hang on to her and take care of her. You are going to love this car. She is very entertaining and easy to live with. Just take care of her & she'll reward you for it.

So yes, enjoy and take care of her!! :inlove:

Hey Philip. I can only think that post 2000 it was the M5 that took centre stage in terms of imports/ sales...

That does make sense - still have the CAR mag with their review of the 540i manual. Epic car! :inlove:

Hi Greg, thanks for the well wishes and the info on the E39 540i Sport Manual, I went onto http://www.bmw-z1.com/VIN/VINdecode-e.cgi and put in the last 7 characters of the vin and it showed that the car was manufactured in Sep 02 and then registered in SA in Feb 03, according to the service manual. I had the same rim on my E46 325 CI they really nice what colour is your car?

I also came from a 325Ci when I bought my 1st E39. The rims are the same style as the 16's on the Ci, but are deepdish narrow-wide 17's. My car also came with the rims you have, the style 66's, so I alternate from time to time, as I like them both. The colour is Aspen Silver. Anyway, shout if you have any other questions. Will be glad to help where possible. Enjoy

I did have a look at this car on the Gum when it came out a few weeks ago I was real lucky to have found the one that I did.

Actually saw that other advert a week or so ago, judging by a few things, a bit scary! There is another advert from the same seller with pictures in the same garage - just a different state of clutter all around...

Hi Guys
So I eventually got the car yesterday so I took some pics, there are still a few things I want to do before I take some better pics and post it on The Showroom. Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for welcoming me to the Forum and for all the well wishes and expressions of congratulations that were bestowed upon me. I must say I find the Forum very informative and I am excited to see a forum for model collectors, I am an avid collector myself, specializing in the 1:18 scale with a comprehensive BMW selection, I will be posting soon. Still have many questions now that I have moved to an E39 but feel very confident that the Forum will be a great help in assisting me, and a place where I can share in the joy of owning this remarkable piece of Bavarian Motor Works
