Thanks for the visit, thanks for the support :ty:

Now she still sounds elegant when idling, but has a nice "rasp" to it when you give it the "beans"

nope....thats why he came to us in the first place...real OEM shows that he has CATS, but when we lifted the car on the ramp, found only the downpipe CATS, which we "don't" touch as yet, as it is a bit too expertease for our shops level of work.

we removed the centre box, about where the Mid-CATS would be, and intially tried a Viper performance box, but the sound remained too sub-dued, so removed the Viper box again, and replaced with straight piping only.

now at idle and under light acceleration still sounds almost "stock", but when a spirited "beans" is given, a nice "rasp" can be heard.

Ok boys I promised Ralf I will reply as soon as he created the thread.. :=):

I was a bit shocked to find that my car did not have the mid cats as shown by real OEM... funny thing is there were no cuts or welds or anything on the exhaust to show that they've been taken out at some stage and if this was the case motorplan woulda had something to say about it... but either way they weren't there so imagine the shock on my face.

Then the Viper box did not really do anything so when I went there this morning I decided screw this and just cancel out that box... which was done and this guy that does the exhaust... Must say he knows what he's doing and does a decent job...

So now when the car idles you still almost can't hear it so very very slight change there but you do hear more when you decide to push the loud pedal all the way down.

So now you won't say anything was done but it sounds a lot better... I will test in the underground parking on Wednesday to try and set of an alarm or two... Just started my car again now and can say it sounds way way better....

Thank you Ralf and team for sorting this out for me and dealing with full of shit me... :)

Guys you can take your cars there for the exhausts for sure...:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Yip, your E90 has no mid-section cats, only a primary resonator / silencer…. Where my E46 has both mid-section cats and a primary silencer (Center Muffler). Very odd.

Awesome.

How much does that cost?

between R350 to R650 depending on wether we use a silencer (Viperbox) or straight tubing etc

Not Jacking the Thread...

Just a enquiry

I have an Auto e46..323

It's too quite for my liking....what coud i do exhaust wise to get a bit more out of it...no need for more power just better sound

But not a Golf 1 Powerflow "loud" thing...just a decent 6 pot growl!!!

Mid-section de-cat, replace with a Viper 2 in 2 out box…. And do the same with the Centre Muffler.

I have a E46 325 and with the mid-section de-cat alone I could notice the difference (sound), I think with the muffler eliminated as well, you might just have a good result.

O' Ralf did my car as well.

I have learnt now that my car does not have the mid cats and the e46 does so may be by just removing that and putting in a viper box will help.

Ask Hermanbriel as he just did that to his E46.. I am sure he will give you excellent info on what to do and what you can do. :)

Ok I see herman already replied... lol

No man, it should not cost you more than R800….

I am however not sure of the OEM system is stainless steel; if that is the case you might have to pay a little more for a SS box, and a little pipe.

CS or MS will be cheaper.

I can live with that..

Now just have to find someone in CT to sort it out....

Soon as the audio is upgraded slightly

Dankie mense:thumbs:
