No Man this is so sad and such kak from these okes. Isn't there any pride honor left anymore? Are people just lying to make a quick buck when they can't do the job?

I don't even want to think how much you must be raging now chris. Having one's dreams realised only to have it delayed and ruined like this. The sooner you can move away from these guys the better. I truly hope sav can sort you out properly.

Just remember that your ///M will still be the fastest NA one for the money even after your expenditure, nevermind the SC

hang in there bra, good things come to those who wait, if the head was completed you would have been driving it already, in a way, fate lead you to Sav in order to save you the heartache later if the valve seat dropped

:argh:Why a bunch of moronic invalids! I am sorry Chris, this is just stupidity to the enth degree! Bastards!

You will come right though.such are the trials and tribulations of a build, not like when your software gets corrupted or something :fencelook:

Keep us posted, hope Sav can sort you out properly

Its just really irritating cause this guy was said to be the TOP DUDE of Head Repairs. His name is Sarel from 8 valve performance. Apparently he's repaired many Ferrari and porsche cup race car heads that were damaged far worse than my head, and they have had no problems. They promised me the world and I believed them.

But then I saw this Weld work and was worried. I don't know if Sav is just trying to make a quick buck or not by telling me the Valve Seats are going to fall out.

After speaking to SAV, I asked the SAREL how sure is he that the valve seal won't fall out, and that I am a little worried, his reply was, "its your call bud, if you don't like it, go buy another head."

I mean, what kind of an answer is that to your customer??? That does not instill confidence at all.

Highly annoyed.

Do I trust this guys back history and take a chance with the head, or spend another 10 -15k and get a new head from Sav with labour.

Strange answer. Its a difficult decision to make if the "experts" are not providing you with definitive options.

Very sorry Chris, but someone with previous experience would've reassured you. Doesn't sound like he has done this before.
I would be fuming if I was you. :bat:

Here is what the cylinder head looks like after the weld was polished and skimmed.

just looking at these pictures and being a qualified fitter and turner, this is just disgusting, pitting marks, and looks like they just sand papered every thing smooth.

personally i wouldnt accept this kind of work.just hate to see what he does on a porsche head.

chris rather find another head,it would be the better bet and then you know the car would be a 100% in the end

I know how it feels to waste a lot of money on something that wasn't needed or shouldn't have been done. I spend more than R10k on trying to solve my super heavy clutch pedal. It was so heavy the line exploded. New clutch, line, slave cylinder and the problem was still there. Found out that the E34 6 speed uses a different size slave cylinder. Another R2k at BMW to get the right thing. I should have gone to BMW in the first place.

Be sure and rather get a new head.

I just wanted to send a big special thanks to Tune Tech for helping me get that Retainer today. I posted on their facebook wall asking for help.

Within 30 minutes I got a reply telling me to call Klaas at BMW Jhb Centre, that he has the part waiting for me. Tune Tech called in advance to get the part for me, and they made no money off the deal, they just wanted to help. Speedy service and an amazing willingness to help. I am really amazed and applaud such business sense. If you want your BMW to be really looked after, these are the guys to see.
