Welcome. Introduce yourself in the "showroom".

You can get all the info on the JB4 or Jbd from "Rennzport" on this forum.

kewl stuff...

is the JBD similar to the JB4 system where you swop between maps as well as the Map 0 (off)? also can you do diagnostics on it as well?

No the JBD is a plug and play chip, it plugs into the Diesel rail and intercepts the signal from the ECU.

Yes, you can choose different maps or by dialing in different power settings. You can run diagnostics only with the additional BMS can tool. The Jbd is a more simplified plug and play system compared to the Jb4.

Ok guys, this thread got de-railed crazily. 1stly, there's no issue with re-mapping diesels & motorplan. There's no way they can detect it's been remapped if your tuner leaves the rev-limiter & speed limiter in place. Which is normal for a diesel anyway as there's no point revving higher & it can't really exceed the speed limiter.

A tune can be picked up the same way a piggyback can be picked up if it throws a fault. But none of the tunes really throw any faults on a diesel.

2nd Rolf, KAR has been the benchmark dyno in Joburg for like 15 years. The diesels are under-rated at 180kw at the fly & in addition to that due to the way the absolute pressure requested, they end up boosting more at altitude that at sea-level. So they will make more at altitude that at sea-level.

Nicely said. My car is a good example of how a Diesel performs. Its been running for well over two years modded.

Im slightly confused guys, but I may just be ignorent in the tuning department.

If a JBD map is programed for a 335d which is a twin turbo car then how can you use it in a car with a completely different setup? There will be a matrix of figures that will be null and void and also allot of stuff that will clash...Sensors will be sending incorrect info etc etc...

Please somone elaborate on this, as far as I know its very dangerous to just get some random map from over seas and put it on your car especially if its a car with a different engine and with an extra turbo..You might be getting gains now but at what cost is what worries me.

I Appologize if I am stepping on anyones toes but I just want to know.

Not stepping on anyones toes. Thats why Rennzport is the authorised agent for The Jb4, JB and JBd.

The JBD can be used on a number of vehicles not just the 335d. It has an adjustable tune for the various specific platforms.

I am also interested in this, was Mortifier supposed to adjust something then since he has the 330d? How would you adjust the chip for each car?

Slightly off topic...

Looking for some advise on the dyno...I see it shows 29% correction for ambient temp for petrol normally aspirated, how does the 29% affect the readout and does the fact that it state "petrol NA" have an effect?
