My 2 cents on logging...
start with depressing the traction control button all the way off, hold for at least 5seconds, then find a clear, straight, level and good piece of road and get up to speed in 3rd gear from a rolling rpm of 2000, get your passenger to press F1 to begin logging and a second later start the firm motion of pressing the loud pedal to the floor, (if your AT or DCT please do not engage the kick down button but firm enough to be just at the limit of it.) let the rpms rise through 3rd gear from 2k rpm to just before the limiter and shift into 4th, continue accelerating in 4th for at least 2 to 3 seconds before pressing F2 to stop the log, you can decelerate or slow down to more calmer speeds at this point. After pressing F2 the program will plot a graph on the screen showing value as it logged, from here press F7 to export the log and save to a directory of your choice, you can rename the logs to (run 1, 3rd gear, map 1) and continue in that fashion...
things to note:
1. after consecutive runs if your IAT goes above 140deg Fahrenheit then stop logging and drive around or pull over to let the car cool, High IAT will pull timing and boost by the JB,
2. the traction control must be totally turned of as it will intervene and close the throttle even though the pedal is fully flat, there are other systems that will also result in throttle closure during fault finding so the TC system must be eliminated from the scenario
3. map 5 is an adaptive map and operates best after a few WOT runs, this eliminates any peakyness in the adaptive process and will give a true reflection of the car and conditions, map 1 and 2 is fixed boost so power delivery will be smoother right of the bat, I personally found map 5 to be more powerfull in my car than 1 and 2 however every car is different so expect different results. if you are JB4 only I would suggest only map1 and map5
4. even though logging your car can seem supercool and like you in an F1 team, please beware other road users. this is also why I prefer to start logging in 3rd gear as opposed to 4th.
5. keep a copy of the wheel controls on hand or saved on your cellphone, image pasted below:
