Who installed it for you?

Is the power wire put back in correctly? Are the sub connectors in the correct location in the plug?

Ps. What engine is this?

This is a better and more informed answer than mine.

I just put the JB4 back in and the car is fine, but as soon as I remove it, it goes back into limp mode

Ok n55 is slightly different, have you looked at the install guide? Here is the link...

N55 install

Also I hope you removed the power on the battery before working on the car, sounds like you fried a sensor or didn't connect one of the plugs in correctly...

1. Disconnect battery
2. Start disconnecting Jb4 on the solenoid side. Disconnect the jb4 solenoid and remember to plug (both) stock connectors in.
3. Then do Maff..then Map...then Tmap. Remember to plug in both stock connectors after unplugging Jb.
4. Then do the power wire...earth wire then the CAN wires.
That should solve it

I will try it in the morning and see if I could solve the problem. Can BMW pick up anything if something should have gone wrong?
