you guys are missing the plot here... the golf came upto the bmw and tuned him, I bet my car could pull yours easy ...

On closer inspection, the golf is clearly not bearing any load at the back, which leads me to believe that the M3 is infact pulling the golf out of a ditch or something

On a more serious note. I was driving on the M5 one day and I was stunned to see a mini (not the new ones) an old small karretjie of a mini towing a MERC (Compressor).

Maybe it was someone's idea of a big joke, shame maar daai mini het darem heelwat gekak. There was so much smoke. Shame I hope the merc driver paid the good Samaritan by buying him another!

All I can say is, it takes a hell of a lot of krag to be able to pull the M3. What does it weigh?? 2 tons?? he he he he

Isnt the M3 more like 1.4 tonnes? my 7 is just under 2 tonnes and there is no way an E36 can weight that much!!!

You would be suprised at those older Golf's. They have a lot of low end toruqe in them, especially if that is the 1.6I.
Once you get moving though, things get a lot easier. Its pulling off that takes its toll on the pulling car!

EDIT: Just confirmed it. An E36 M3 weights in at 1,460 kg. TBH, a Toyota Corolla is 1.2 tonnes so not too much more weight to pull
