After doing 1 round of the Joburg ring I was soo bored ended up in Brits in the North West... Car is behaving very well. Spoke to come AUDI enthusiasts as well who say the distances is just too short for everyday commute and with what everyone is saying here as well I am going to try out this walking thing. Did it today and my back was wet and shoes hurt when I got to work.

Thanks for the advice.

At least you tried the walk, I would even consider a scooter, which the price can be recovered if you save just one visit to the Audi dealer.

Bud, maybe a cheap bicycle would work. If it isn't uphill to work, it should be any easy distance to ride. Get a cheapie from Makro!

Going to ride some scooters today, I have no previous experience whatsoever. Not sure if this should be a new thread but do I need a motorbike license for these Jonway, GoMoto or Big boy scooters? I am 1.87m tall at 108kgs... wonder if that is too much weight for the engine.

They seem rather cheap brand new.

Howzit ma Chyna....

Stay away from those mentioned Chinese scooters/bikes.
I've heard of countless issues on them, even when bought brand new.

A good cheap commuter for short distance would be something like a Honda NXR125.
This bike will refuse to die and will use micro droplets of fuel.

You will need a motorcycle license or learners to ride a scooter. The learners is valid for around 18months, but you may not lift other people. The license is very easy as well as it’s only a series of yard tests that you need to do, so you will be fine with 1 day of training at a riding school and then doing the test.

If you’re looking for a scooter maybe have a look at a secondhand Yamaha BWS 100cc - it’s a little 2-stroke scooter and they are superb. Our household has 2 of them and we’ll never sell them - they’ve covered around 27-30k kms each with not a single maintenance issue apart from plugs, brake pads etc. One is due for new rollers and a clutch now after about 8 years. @tman will be able to comment on these scooters as well..

Don't under any circumstance buy a big boy, or Jon way, or any other Chinese scooter. Build quality is kak, and parts can be a problem too.

If you are on a tight budget get a Yamaha BWS100. I've owned 2. They are super reliable and cheap to maintain, whith parts readily available. If you not keen on a 2 stroke get a Honda PXC.

You can't go wrong with either.
