Is this price high?

Hi all,

The breakers in Nelspruit are charging R500.00 for a BMW buss E46 front loader CD player. Opinions on price. :ty:

I'm guessing it depends on whether it's first or second hand?

Seems like a small price to pay for an OEM head unit either way...just keep your original in case it's a dud

Just my 2c

Hi,

My car has the cassette/radio.

Will the CD front loader have to be decoded first before it can work in my car?

No it shouldnt my brother brought me one from the states and that worked fine.

Its beyond easy to install so when you're at the breakers just quickly fit it to see if it works.

Ah the US markets had Alpine units, some of which had mp3/wma compatibility :inlove: did you get one of those DieselFan? I also have the cassette radio unit but I'm happy with it for now. Don't want to get a Business CD unit unless it has mp3/wma support...but that's a big ask in South Africa.

Yip plays mp3s :)

Also have aux routed to the glovebox.

And my 6CD changer in the boot also works.

Awesome man

If you ever hear of one of those units going on sale here :fencelook: please let me know! So keen!

Correct me if I'm wrong but the "BUSINESS CD" writing appears above the volume knob on your unit?

On Philips-made units the writing appears below.

My car will be at my mech for awhile not sure when I'll get it back as they are extremely busy. And might leave it there to start the gearbox conversion :) .

Will let you know when it's back :)
