Honestly a "thorough checkup" at BMW was to run those same diagnostics on your car and see what codes come up, they don't have spare time. If there's nothing obvious, they'll simply clear adaptations on the EMS, and if the customer still comes back after that, replace air filter/fuel filter/spark plugs/coils/injectors/etc, until customer stops moaning or runs out of cash.![]()

If I recall my consumption on my E46 330i 6MT, I was getting about the same as you in town so does not sound too bad. But going the De-CAT route is a good idea with that millage...
