Is it ok to mix oil brands of the same weight?

Hi Fanatics
I want to service my Z1000 Kawasaki this weekend. I have enough oil of the correct weight in my garage, but not of the same brand. Is it a bad idea to mix them?
I have Castrol, motul and liqui moly.
Or must i rather go buy more Castrol which i have the most of?

On the topic. Im no expert. I would say its ok in an emergency situation. But not a routine maintenance route i would go.

on paper it shouldnt cause an issue, but it is safer to just dump the oil and change with the same oil one time rather than mix them.

you could get slipping or really hard shifts with wet clutch systems if the oils are very different... i have had this issue before.

I wouldn’t even consider it.

Bike clutches are notoriously sensitive to certain oils and will end up slipping for no reason.

Buy the right oil and then service the bike.

ill buy more of what i have the most of then, being the Castrol.
I suppose small amounts are mixed when you change brands between services due to the residue left in the bike, but i was considering mixing random litres at a time of different brands, but all 10 w40.
ill take the advice i asked for ;-)

Mixing different brand oils is never a good idea. Even if they are the same grades, different manufacturers use different additives and in the worst case these additives can influence each other quite negatively.
I've seen where two different manufacturers oils were added together and before long the oil had turned to a sludge.
Stick to the same brand, and if you want to change brands warm up the motor nicely and drain everything before adding the new brand of oil.
