I think the production of a strutbrace for the e46 platform will be pretty straight forward. The engine bay is not as cluttered as the e90 and should be a complete strut without the need to remove the brace for changing oil and the engine cover for plugs etc...I hope Revo can work his magic on this one as well.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

This was what I was thinking, wouldn't mind it looking like the ASC one or the the one for the e9x in this thread.


I don't think there is much of a market for rear tower braces, as that pat of the car it pretty stiff already and I am guessing you have to be pushing your car pretty hard for flex in the rear towers to be a problem. For race cars I am sure it is needed though.

you are right but a the flex in that direction is not that much a hinged system still eliminates most of the flex...

a non hinged system is better but then where the hinge is on this one it has to be made very strong or it will crack so a solid one will probably be a bit heavier...

you say it works dramatically, and I am not really doubting you, but in my mind, thinking on what the strut bar is doing, I cant see how a hinged system would really help at all.

the point of a strut bar is to keep the geometry stable. when corning hard, the one tower wants to change its angle. connecting the two strut towers together can help achieve this.

maybe I am incorrect in my thinking?????
