By far one of the easiest motors to work on (M30) and stout too. We had a '91 535i manual in the family for many years and racked up a shitload of mileage on it, at 530 000km my brother overheated after a radiator leak he was unaware of and I pulled the motor apart to inspect it, bearings still looked new and the cylinder bores still had their cross hatch markings! Just goes to show how solid they built cars back then, plus the fact the car had much shorter service intervals than modern ones and good quality oil had been used its entire life. A true testament to BMW's heydays.

Thanks bud, so I have 350000km to go in this car, seeing as I average about 5000km a year, which means I will die first.

Loving the car, although they were clearly built in an era when everyone had there own personal oil well :D:D
