Intermittent jerking

Hi

I have a BMW 320D E90 2009 (N47D20) Auto.
Every so often, especially when its hot, the car will jerk while driving and the cog warning light will come on and the car seems to loose power. Once its cooled down its fine again.

I sent it to a gearbox specialist for exhaustive testing and they couldn't find anything wrong. They suspect its fuel system related but cant tell me what it is. The injectors were tested recently and are perfectly fine. Could it be the pump or preheater perhaps? I replaced the preheater in late 2019. Surely it can't have packed up so soon?

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be?

HI

By cog warning, I assume you mean gear warning?
If so then,

The next time the cog warning comes on, do not switch off the car. Have the codes read while the warning is on.
On the auto box, I've also had trouble fault finding as the code gets cleared when the car is turned off. I had to read the code while the warning light is on.

I actually had the light come on and drove the car straight to ZF without turning the car off.
