Hey guys, just wanted to update some pics of the centre console work in progress. I also ned your opions on whether this would would hold up without clear coat? I dont want it to be too shiny, but I'm afraid it might come off easily without it.

What I've done: Sanded with 80 grit right down to the the plastic, then 220grit.
3 light layers of plastic primer, 5 light layers of matt black spray paint.

Before (Began sanding a small patch already)

After 5th coat of Matt Black:

I sanded over the chrome bit by accident, so I decided to paint over it as well. I'll figure something out there later.

As always, thanks guys

Hey guys.
Just an update. I did use clearcoat on the centre console panels at the end of the day. It's a bit shiny for my taste, but looks waaaay better than before. I will take some pics tomorrow in natural light, my phone's flash makes it look even worse.

I have also figured out photoshop. This one is very crude, as I had to enlarge and warp the image that I added - so you might need to use a little imagination. (The 1M bumper that we spoke about earlier in this thread on my car, with side impact strip colour coded.):

I think the real thing will look straight up awesome.

On page 2 of this thread is the same one in grey. I really think this is the best looking bumper I have seen on any e46.
Really expensive though. Damn market driven economy

Im a fan of the colour coding, not so much of the bumper. I'd rather keep it OEM.

I respect your opinion my good sir, but I have to say I dont think the colour coding would work well with the OEM bumper on a saloon. I think the exclusive pack looks pretty good as is, but that 1M bumper really has me...
