yeah in addition to that incident, there was also something on the vanos replaced, turbo replaced and boost pressure regulator. Pity, cause this car is loaded will every thinkable extra.

But gonna give it a miss. Will look out for something else. Thanks guys.

I own a late model '06 335i Coupe and can tell you that it is by far the best car I've ever owned. Yes, BMW have had a few niggles, but in every instance they've attended to them.

I only have 52,000km on my clock, so I gladly paid the R6,000 to extend my motorplan, and I will next year too.

Be careful regarding valuing the extras on the Coupe... just about EVERYTHING was included already, navigation, sun roof, xenon auto lights with cornering, rear PDC etc.

My opinion is that it's the best looking of all the current generation 3-series (except for the M3 of course), the sedan doesn't hold a candle to it.

I'm told book on my car is no more than R290k... but I wouldn't ever consider selling at that price - it's worth far more to me as an exhilirating and comfortable drive.

I recently test drove a 911 GTS and a Jaguar XFR and although both are FANTASTIC, for triple the price (or more) they don't come close to offering the same joy and value I derive from my car.

I'd heartily recommend you buy one, but agree that ANY high performance car needs it's motorplan, or at least a decent mechanical warranty.

Tagg I have to respectfully disagree with you there. The 335i coupe looks even better than the M3 to me anyday

In the latest SNS there is a picture of a few bmw's at an event at Monte casino. There is a white 335i coupe with exhaust and some aftermarket wheels, and the picture angle is perfect. Wonder who's car that is. I want it!

One last thing. Is there only one style of Automatic on these cars or is there multiple auto types?

As for the otehr "BMW speak" whats the difference between "exclusive pack", "sport pack" and other?

thanks

I'm not going to disagree with you if you say "my car" is better looking than an M3 :)

I find that it strikes the right balance between executive saloon and sports car, not too flashy, but certainly not boring.

This is mine:

I have the manual, and I'm very happy with the box. I didn't like the auto I test drove before buying this one, but I've heard excellent things about the DCT gearbox which I have not tried myself.

Mine came standard with the Exclusive Pack - sunroof, navigation, PDC, cornering lights, bi-xenon, auto headlight dip, headlight washers, auto windscreen wipers etc.

The Sports pack had some aesthetic trinkets which I didn't care much for, and I think it lowers the suspension a little (something I would not recommend, as I struggle in and out of my driveway already!)

I owned both sport and exclusive packs...the packs are irrelevant if you buy used.

If you buy used there are other variables in this thread we have already mentioned, which are very important. Mechanical waranty and MP are not the same thing. You buy this car out of MP, then you must be prepared for the financial burden you will have. If that is not an issue then good for you, take it off your check list.

You obviously have many questions about this car. On this forum there are many threads anout the x35. Click under the usernames of george smooth; twinz for plenty info. There is also a guy on this forum doing a complete rebuild of a 335 and so on...

Sick car man... i had the same loan car for a day or 2 when my car was in the workshop, and I must say I enjoyed it very much:thumbs:

Just that the turbo kicks in quite early so I wanted to push the car all the time haha:rollsmile:

Opinions make the forum, I think the sedan looks better because of the bonnet on the Lci, but in which ever guise you get it, the 335 is still a bomb and second to none in that price range. All the best!

this is what made me love the e90 and also the taillights.

both sedan and coupe are the shizz, i just prefer sportspack more on any one, as i am more of the looks guy, than the gadget guy.

drove the coupe, looks just like Tag11's car and that thing is addictive, made me instantly fall in love with it. wish to buy one someday. and yes, i prefer the coupe over the m3 coupe, but the m3 sedan is a different story
