Intercoolers

Hi,

So I'm looking at an intercooler as mine is pretty stuffed. And may as well go bigger (bmw e46 330d 135kw)

Now what makes a good intercooler. I understand there are different types and bar and plate is the way to go?

I have found this company that uses imported bar and plate cores Link .

I do not want to spend R6 000 on an intercooler. I am looking more around the 2.5k - 4k mark...

If I were to use that company what specifications should I give them for the cooler?

Or are there any alternatives you can recommend? I see there are alot of cheap alternatives around R1600 but I don't think these are going to be any good...

So should I find out what brand of core they are using.

And what dimensions are going to be ideal for the 330d...?

335 N54 stock intercooler should work fine, you might just need silicone reducers for the connectors :idea:

I would look at getting a second hand 335 intercooler it is a little bigger and you can probably get one second hand from someone who has upgraded...

Unfortunately 335 cooler doesn't fit the E46. The 320d E90 is in the same boat and would require a cooler specific to the 320d or a custom jobbie

was removed to fit PPK intercooler.
