Thank you guys for all the responses. Has anybody used lloyds or alexander forbes, i was thinking of getting a quote from them.

I am with Alexander Forbes at the moment, good service, and when I searched for quotes two months back, no one could beat them. The closest one was through a forum sponsor.

Ok, my two cents worth. It depends on how you use the cars. I have two M cars, and they are comprehensively insured but my travel is limited to 8000km a year each. For that I pay R2600 per year for both cars. So for not getting driven too much, I don't pay much.......

Not a typo, but insurance for classic and collectible cars which both my M cars are. Happy to share details, for people interested, maybe easiest if you pm me.
And will go and get the exact amount, my M5 is more then the 535iM but together around R2600 per year for both.
